Chelsea player ratings vs Bournemouth (A)

Chelsea kept their place in the top four of the Premier League as they beat Bournemouth 1-0 on Saturday.

Antonio Conte’s men secured the three points on the South Coast as Eden Hazard’s second-half goal proved the difference.

A robust defensive performance was key for Chelsea, as they held firm at the back and looked to break quickly when they could.

Alvaro Morata had the ball in the back of the net during the first-half but it was ruled out for offside. Cesar Azpilicueta was adjudged to have been interfering with play whilst offside. The win sees Chelsea move up to 19 points, nine points behind top of the league Manchester City.

Thibaut Courtois: 7
Made a few comfortable saves and was composed when collecting the ball.

Cesar Azpilicueta: 8
Defended excellently when needed. Was calm on the ball.

David Luiz: 8
Won every header and brought the ball out of defence well.

Antonio Rudiger: 8
Was a rock at the back alongside Luiz and Azpilicueta. Didn’t step a foot wrong.

Davide Zappacosta: 8
Was superb at right-wing back. Defended very well and got forward to great effect down the flank.

Composed display in midfield. Did the simple work for Chelsea.

 Cesc Fabregas: 8
Bossed the midfield and showed his class in the middle of the park.

Marcos Alonso: 7
Solid display from Alonso. Defended with ease, could have done more going forward.

Pedro: 7
Ran the channels well and was unlucky on a couple of occasions. Work-rate was superb.

Alvaro Morata: 7
Was a touch unfortunate to have his goal disallowed but did miss a good chance early in the first-half. Held the ball up well.

Eden Hazard: 8
Scored the all-important goal and caused Bournemouth problems all evening. Man of the match.
