Inter could go in for Mateo Kovacic

Inter could bring back Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic for a second spell at the club if Chelsea and Real Madrid do not come to an agreement over a permanent transfer according to a report from Tuttosport.

The Croatian is currently on loan with Chelsea until the summer and without a deal, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio could look to take advantage of the good relations with his agent to bring him back to Inter.

Kovacic played 97 times from between 2013 and 2015.

The report suggests however that Real Madrid could offer Kovacic as part of a deal that would see them land Chelsea star man Eden Hazard.

Kovacic would likely demand an annual salary in or around his current one of €4.5 million which makes him far more enticing for Inter than Luka Modric who is said to be wanting more than double of that.

Moreover, Kovacic is nine years the junior of his compatriot, who Inter courted without success back in the summer transfer window.
