Maurizio Sarri
Chelsea sit fourth in the Premier League with less than 24 hours to go before the mid-season window opens.
And Sarri will be eager for them to extend the five-point advantage they have amassed over fifth-place Arsenal.
The chance of securing a top-four finish for The Blues can be aided if they make the right signings in January.
And the latest reports indicate Sarri has identified a position where he believes he is currently lacking
According to the Daily Mail, the former Napoli gaffer wants "better wide, creative options".
Sarri already has wingers Eden Hazard, Willian and Pedro among his ranks, as well as youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi. But his preference for playing Hazard in an unfamiliar No 9 role seems to have shaped his January plans.
Sarri is thought to be after a striker in the new year having grown disenchanted with Alvaro Morata.
A potential swap deal involving Morata and Gonzalo Higuain, who played under Sarri at Napoli, has been mooted.
