Another Chelsea winger to sign new contract

Chelsea winger Willian is expected to follow Callum Hudson-Odoi by signing a new contract with the club.

Willian to put pen to paper
Hudson-Odoi, currently recovering from Achilles surgery, will sign a new five-year deal worth around £100,000-a-week to finally end speculation about his future.

And another Chelsea ace is about to join the crew.

Willian now looks set to sign a new two-year deal as Chelsea continue to prepare for the prospect of a transfer embargo.

The club tore up their policy of only offering one extra year to players over 30 when they handed David Luiz a new two-year deal last month.

And while Willian turns 31 this week, they are willing to do so again with the uncertainty of a two-window transfer ban looming.

The Brazil star, who has been targeted by Manchester United, Paris St-Germain and Barcelona in recent windows, has always insisted he wanted to stay.

Willian had actually been holding out for a three-year contract but it is now expected he will put pen to paper on a deal to stay until 2021.

With Eden Hazard set to leave for Real Madrid, Chelsea are tying down their existing players in case they cannot sign anyone this summer.

Cesar Azpilicueta, 29, was given a new four-year contract last December, while Willy Caballero and Olivier Giroud both recently signed new one-year deals.

Willian had three goals and seven assists in 32 Premier League games for Chelsea last season, making 26 starts.
