Jon Walters's funny tweet following Eden Hazard’s Real Madrid transfer

Former Stoke City striker Jon Walters had a day to forget in January 2013 when, in addition to his own goals, he missed a penalty in a 4-0 thrashing.

The 35-year-old hung up his boots at the end of last season, but has offered his services to Chelsea – pointing out he has ‘produced’ for them in the past.

“Now that Eden Hazard has left. If you want goals from someone who has produced for you in the past Chelsea...I could be tempted #2in0,” he tweeted.

Walters was poking fun at himself for the role he played in a 4-0 thumping of Stoke by the Blues in January 2013.

The Potters were on a 17-game unbeaten run, but were thrashed at home where the striker scored TWO own goals – and missed a penalty!

First, he headed the ball past goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, then he beat Frank Lampard to Juan Mata’s cross for own goal No.2.

He also had the chance for a little bit of redemption at the end of the game, but he missed from the penalty spot by smashing the ball at the bar.
