Jurgen Klopp's threatening warning to Chelsea ahead of next season

Jurgen Klopp is expecting Liverpool to dominate English football once again next season after the Reds beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final.

Jurgen Klopp sends a threatening warning to Chelsea ahead of next season

This is bad news for Chelsea given their own ambitions to win trophies and challenge for the biggest prizes in the game.

Pep Guardiola retainted the Premier League this season after breaking the 100-point barrier last year.

City finished a single point ahead of Liverpool, who set a new benchmark for points won without claiming the title in the English topflight, with 97.

Chelsea ended up a distant third under Maurizio Sarri with 72 points, one ahead of Mauricio Pochettino's injury-ravaged Spurs.

Arsenal and Manchester United came fifth and sixth, respectively, missing out on Champions League football for at least another season.

They will need to hope that Chelsea and Spurs struggle next year as according to Klopp, City and Liverpool will not be fading away.

"A second ago I spoke to Pep Guardiola," said the German in his post-match press conference after the Champions League final in Madrid.

"We promised each other that we would kick each others butts again next season!"

If their rivalry continues to bring the best out of their players, to raise their games a level above what their closest rivals can hope to achieve, then the Premier League could be set to remain a two horse race for some time to come.

But we are hoping it doesn't, and that it keeps on bolstering as the most competitive league in the world as Pedro said earlier today. We want to see the race for the title finish and top four competitive and of course want to ultimately see Chelsea emerge victorious. Or what do you think? Comment below.
