Man City beats Chelsea to the signing of Nigerian winger

Nigerian 16-year-old Samuel Edozie who plays for Millwall's youth sides now looks set to join City despite Chelsea interest.

Premier League champions Manchester City look set to secure the youngster’s services, according to the Evening Standard

Both City and Chelsea are known to have amazing youth set-ups that give their young players a chance to either go out on loan or make cameo appearances for the first team before hopefully cementing a place.

Scouts from both sides have watched Edozie at U16 games and the winger has most certainly impressed.

Naturally, Millwall are keen to hold on to Edozie, but the chance of being in and around a top-four side in the Premier League rather than the Championship reportedly appeals to the Nigerian.

City, who have reached the final of the FA Youth Cup four times in recent years, are not afraid to spend serious cash on their youth sides.

Chelsea missed out on the Youth Cup this year, a competition that they have dominated this decade, so clearly want to strengthen.
