The 60-year-old is ready to walk away from Stamford Bridge after 10 tumultuous months at the helm during which he has fallen out with and isolated a number of players, been abused regularly by Chelsea fans and yet still achieved Champions League qualification and Europa League glory.

Sarri is reported to have told Chelsea of his intentions to quit after Wednesday’s crushing 4-1 win over Arsenal in Baku and will succeed Allegri at Juventus, once the Serie A champions have agreed a compensation fee.

Already the former Napoli coach, according to Tuttosport, has se aside two Chelsea players he would like to bring with him to Turin in Gonzalo Higuain and Emerson Palmieri.

Jorginho, the fulcrum of his Napoli side who joined Chelsea last summer, is thought to be untouchable given the lengths at which the Premier League side went to snatch the Italy international from under the noses of Manchester City.

In any case, Sarri is said to have already decided that Miralem Pjanic will play in the midfield pivot role mastered by Jorginho and will instead concentrate on bolstering his defence and forward line.

Sarri will reportedly try to convince Juventus to restore Higuain to their squad after the was the main casualty of Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival last summer.

Higuain, who enjoyed the most prolific spell of his career at Napoli under Sarri, was shipped out on loan to Milan but failed to settle and subsequently endured a mediocre six-month spell in west London, which culminated in his altercation in training with David Luiz on the eve of the Europa League final.

Palmieri, meanwhile, played a bit-part role under Sarri last season but started and made a significant impact against Arsenal in midweek and is viewed as ideal competition for Alex Sandro, should he remain at Juventus.
