Everton boss Marco Silva has told the club he wants Kurt Zouma tied down to a long-term deal.

Everton boss Marco Silva wants Kurt Zouma to be tied down to a long-term deal at Everton

Chelsea defender on loan to Everton Kurt Zouma was a big hit at Goodison Park last term.

But it still remains unclear if the France international will return as Chelsea are unable to bring in new faces this summer due a two-window transfer ban imposed by FIFA.

Zouma is the most experienced option the club have on the books to provide competition for David Luiz and Andreas Christensen as they could decide to keep him to give new manager Frank Lampard plenty of cover.

The Telegraph claimed last week that the Toffees have opened talks with Chelsea about a potential deal with Everton boss Marco Silva telling top brass he wants both signed to long-term contracts.

Zouma, however, claimed 12 months ago that he would return to Chelsea following his loan spell.
“I have always believed in myself since I started playing football at 16. I have always wanted to show myself at Chelsea since I have been there,” he said.

“I know my injuries stopped me in the way I wanted to play but injuries are part of football and I want to show people I can come back and play there.

"That’s why I need some game time at Everton here because they are a good team.”
